PMC’s Transportation Group specializes in facilitating the environmental planning process for transportation projects, including roadway expansions, interchange reconfigurations, bridge replacements, utility upgrades, and other public infrastructure improvements. Our group is comprised of in-house technical and planning staff that has extensive experience working on these projects with a range of federal, state, and local agencies, and is well versed in the environmental review requirements of these agencies. We also draw upon a select list of sub consultant firms as needed to enhance our existing resources.
The PMC Transportation Group’s primary area of expertise is conducting technical analysis and preparing environmental documentation pursuant to California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) guidelines. Specific document types include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Preliminary Environmental Studies (PES)
- Preliminary Environmental Assessment Reports (PEAR)
- Natural Environmental Study Reports (NES)
- Wetland Delineations
- Historical Resources Compliance Reports (HRCR)
- Historical Property Survey Reports (HPSR);
- Archaeological Survey Reports (ASR)
- Visual Impact Assessments (VIA);
- Community Impact Assessments (CIA)
- 4(f) Evaluations
- Water Quality Assessment Reports (WQA)
- Environmental Assessments (EA)
- Initial Studies (IS)
- Environmental Impact Statements (EIS)
- Environmental Impact Reports (EIR)
Our staff coordinates frequently with Caltrans and FHWA for projects both on and off the highway system, and we maintain a positive working relationship with these agencies. Using our extensive knowledge of their documentation and procedural requirements, we are able to avoid unnecessary delay during the environmental review process.
From project initiation through project completion, we assist our clients in determining the appropriate type and level of documentation for each project, and in making important environmental decisions throughout the project development process. We consistently produce complete and accurate documents that are both responsive to our clients’ needs and in compliance with local, state, and federal agency requirements.
